The symposium on self-discipline development in the artificial stone industry (Guangzhou) was hosted by Tian Jing, Deputy Secretary General of the China Stone Association. As the initiator of this symposium, Wang Shaofang, the director of the Artificial Stone Special Committee, first shared the opportunity to launch this symposium in his speech: not long ago, we held an industry high-quality development forum in Hezhou, focusing on strengthening enterprise self construction, improving service levels, and accelerating transformation and upgrading, and conducting many beneficial sharing. This conference is another important industry conference to undertake the high-quality development theme of the Hezhou Forum and address prominent market and application issues such as low-priced bidding and disorderly competition in the current decoration engineering field. I hope everyone can combine their own experience and experience, deeply analyze the reasons, propose more practical and feasible opinions and suggestions, and find effective solutions. At the same time, through this conference, we will conduct in-depth discussions on industry solidarity and cooperation, support and participation in industry research, industry promotion, and basic research work of the association, as well as the potential impact of the implementation of "Artificial Stone Building Materials" (GB/T 41919-2022) on the industry.

Subsequently, representatives of participating enterprises and industry experts expressed their opinions on behaviors that disrupt the market, such as "resisting low-priced bidding and disorderly competition". From resisting disorderly competition to independent innovation, process innovation, and technological innovation by enterprises, we strive to set a good industry benchmark by example. Participating enterprises express their opinions and speak freely. Participating enterprises and experts suggest further strengthening the role of the association, organizing third-party flight inspections, publishing inspection results in real time, and conducting regular industry training for production, technical, and sales personnel to improve their technical and service levels; Establish regular communication and data reporting mechanisms, organize high-quality forums, or conduct special sharing around specific engineering cases/projects to lead everyone to do a good job in the industry.

The second topic of the symposium is closely related to the construction standards and post service issues encountered by artificial stones in the field of decoration engineering. Enterprise representatives and industry experts have had a heated discussion on formulating construction standards, conducting technical disclosure, and fundamentally solving problems in the later stages of the project from the source. Chairman Wang Shaofang gave a presentation titled "Correct Material Selection and Application of Artificial Stones" at the meeting, deeply calling on the project team to give artificial stones more manufacturing time and respect the curing cycle of artificial stone products; An in-depth analysis was conducted on the dimensions of how to standardize the application of artificial stones from different series and aggregates, with different properties and applicability. This has been highly recognized by industry experts and peers. They also discussed and interpreted the definition and classification of artificial stone products, the formulation and application of standards, and giving full play to the role of the International Organization for Standardization ISO TC 328 as a domestic counterpart.
